Certification Program
The Hawaii Department of Health, Safe Drinking Water Branch administers the Distribution System Operator (DSO) certification program, running Grades 1-4 in parallel with the Water Treatment Plant Operator (WTPO) track. Certificates renew every two years. An operator's certification grade must meet or exceed the classification of the distribution system they are responsible for.
