Licensing Structure

Idaho wastewater treatment operators are licensed by the Board of Drinking Water and Wastewater Professionals via DOPL, at levels including Class I Restricted, Class I, Class II, Class III, and Class IV, plus a dedicated Very Small Wastewater System credential for the smallest operations (below the threshold requiring a full Class I license). Renewal moved to a biennial (2-year) cycle effective October 2025.
