Michigan Water Distribution Operator Certification (Level 4 through Level 1)
Certification Structure
Michigan certifies water distribution operators separately from treatment plant operators. The Distribution credential runs Level 4 (entry) through Level 1 (highest), administered by EGLE on a 3-year renewal cycle requiring continuing education credits. Operators can, in some cases, write an exam for the level matching their actual system without first holding every lower certificate.
